Who We Are
Building Stronger Families Through Community
Kids Belong was founded in 2013 with a vision to strengthen the foster care system by supporting foster, adoptive, and kinship families while creating lasting opportunities for foster youth and former foster youth. We believe every child deserves the safety, stability, and belonging that comes from a caring family and a supportive community.
Over the years, we’ve worked alongside families, volunteers, churches, businesses, and local organizations to provide practical resources, meaningful relationships, and programs that help children, youth, and families thrive.
Our Strategy
Supporting Families, Building Community
Kids Belong strengthens the foster care system through a twofold approach that supports both families and the wider community. We provide practical resources and ongoing encouragement to foster, adoptive, and kinship families through programs such as clothing closets, holiday assistance, back-to-school support, birthday celebrations, and other essential services. At the same time, we engage individuals, businesses, churches, and local organizations to build a compassionate network that stands alongside these families.

We offer clothing closets, holiday assistance, school supplies, back-to-school resources, and other practical support to foster, adoptive, and kinship families throughout West Michigan.

Our programs welcome families from every agency and every foster care journey, including foster care, adoption, guardianship, and kinship care, ensuring every family receives encouragement and support.

Through family events, support groups, mentoring, and parent-to-parent connections, we create a welcoming community where families can share experiences, find encouragement, and grow together.

By strengthening families and surrounding them with caring volunteers, churches, sponsors, and community partners, we help children, foster youth, and former foster youth experience hope, stability, and belonging.
